Omawunmi’s Megbele campaign, which
she did to encourage traditional attires in Nigeria unveiled it’s
winner, Oghenerukevbe Karla K-James, who went home with the prize of
$1,000 on July 31,2014
The campaign which ran from the 22nd of May to the 2nd of June, had contestants share pictures of themselves dressed in their native/traditional attire via Instagram, Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #Megbele to win. The winning picture was shared by Oghenerukevbe Karla K-James’s proud mom and received over 500 likes on Instagram.
Oghenerukevbe Karla K-James, who turns 4 this October, was among the 5 people that had the most likes on Instagram. She was eventually selected by Omawunmi as the winner and received her prize at Ginger Tapas & Grill, Victoria Island, Lagos.
